Thanks Joshua, that all looks like fun. But is there not a bit of
power loss between the "stoker's" pedalling and the road wheels? I bet
the twins enjoy their tours1

Another advantage of the seating positions is that the captain and
stoker can easily kiss while riding.

If you don't have another person to ride a tandem with you, there are
single recumbent bikes that have the same relaxed seating position.
