Provided the emulsion itself isn't scratched, it will hide the scratches when enlarging. I have even been known to do this trick when scanning slides. AG Also on a lens for soft effects and, reputedly, to remove fungus when cleaning a lens (worked for me when I tried - faster and less rubbing than Windex). Who ever would have thought that an old bloke fat nose would come in handy! Now, if they can find a use for ear hair too....
