The 1 and 3 (uneven numbers) are the full and pure mechanical OM bodies,
The 2 and 4 (even numbers) are the full auto OM bodies.
And here is the main difference already:
the 2 and 4 have a manual mode, the 1 and 3 don't have auto.
but The 1 and 3 will operate at all speeds without batteries, just the meter
won't work.
And the Ti bodies both support TTL full synchro with the F280 flash.
