One importane question remains unanswered. Will the SD9 meter in stop
down mode with an MF lens on an adapter? The cheaper Nik*ns don't, the
F*ji doesn't, the P*ntax apparently doesn't do it in a useful way. It
seems even less likely that the Sigm* would, since it was not developed
as a new mount with no need for any backward compatability with
anything.

The original website mentions stop down somewhere but who knows how fully Sigma
supports it. I
guess this is a question for the Sigma list.
The question raised by the adapter manufacturer is whether the lenses will not
fit because of
interference between the stop down/ metering tabs or other tabs on OM lenses he
mentions. To find
how well this would work we could probably make a crude adapter from a removed
junker OM10 body
flange and a turned down Sigma bayonet mount. Junk Sigma lenses for their mount
can sometimes be
had cheaply. Does anybody know a Sigma owner whose camera you could examine
to see if there is a
major interference issue?
An alternative adaption might be to just remove the Sigma Flange (see
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2948331000&category=30020 ,
copy the pictures
into your photo paint program to enlarge detail) and replace with an OM10
flange and shim spacer
(~2mm). The shim would need to to tapped to take OLy screws as the sigma uses
4 screws rather
than 3, and in any case the chance of the screw spacing diameter being the
samer is almost nil.
