Both the FTL and the Fujica lenses were problematic - they had extra
engineering to provide open aperture metering. They would probably
need modification - for instance, the Fujica had a rotating outer
ring with a projecting lug which engaged on the camera body. Late
Pentax M42 lenses did it with an inner lug so that they were fully
compatible with earlier bodies or adaptor rings. Although there were
some nice Fujica lenses, the Pentax Takumars are the only real
option, saving some good 3rd party lenses like good Viv's or Tamron
adaptalls.
There is a screw-mount enthusiastic in Canberra - Russian guy - but
I've lost the url. He lists all the compatibles (and there are a
lot!). The new Bessamatic may renew interest in this area.
Now, does anyone really believe that the Oly 4/3 mount will become a
new universal standard as proposed? :)

So if we posted this info to a list of Pentax M42 screw mount
owners, it might improve our odds. Does anyone an idea where they
are? Yahoo! groups?
If I had a collection of M42 lenses, I'd be very interested indeed.
Those were the Spotmatic and Spotmatic II from late 60s through
the 70s, roughly. I doubt that Practica folks would be much
interested. Fujica made some M42 bodies. Does anyone have a big
collection of Olympus FTL glass?

PS, I didn't think so. :)
