I think you're definitely right - the viewing distance is extremely
important. The other thing I should say, in way of explanation, is that
most of my printing is black and white.

I think most of the time you make big print at 8x10 or above and that is
no problem with inkjet, may be it is the viewing distance of 4x6" print
makes the different. I only do family prints and 99 0s 4x6 otherwise it
is slides for 60" projection.
