I google searched 'telephoto lens support' and results were Bogen 3420 and
3421 (3421 for BIG ones); and Manfrotto 293. I was told both models are just
the same, and they look just the same in my screen. Google didn't find
another type of telephoto lens support.
So i concluded I should use a 293, available here; since such an item is
recommended at:
http://members.aol.com/olympusom/lenstests/default_m.htm
where best results using the 200/4 are obtained when: "lens supported by
Bogen Telephoto Lens Support"; but it doesn't state which one.

I didn't notice this on the 293. Could this be a difference between Bogen
and Manfrotto models? AFAIK, they're the same.

Well, I do want to tie it well. The more strap, the better. And leave the
shade alone, and the winder buzzing. Seems that few zuikoheads like this
200/4, but I'm planning to shoot Mars with it ;^))
Thanks,
Fernando.

Subject: [OM] Manfortto 293 Blues
Hi all,
How can anyone mount an OM + Winder2 + 200/4 to a Manfortto 293 Telephoto
Lens Support [Bogen Manfrotto 3420]
This morning I found:
1- fixing screw is too long for winder's female screw (this can be worked
out)
2- Body + winder are too tall, therefore lens is about 2 cm. higher than
front support piece. In other words, the piece which would support the lens
is too short. The 85~250 flies over it.
3- **Telephoto lens support at minimum length is longer than the Body +
200/4. The flat sinthetic strip can fix the 200/4 by its hood, not by its
body.**
3 is most important issue, can't figure out how to improve this.
How was this managed previously? I mean published results showing
improvement using a lens support.
Was this 293 designed for use on wunderbricks only? :((
And I love italian design...
Fernando.
