Not true of all Tamron 500/8 mirror lenses. Although the lenses may or
may not be the same, the hood design changed. Early hoods had threads
going in both directions so the hood could be reversed over the lens and
screwed on for storage. Mabye they changed it because people got
confused and thought there was something wrong with the lens when the
hood was on it?
