I don't have an OM1 so no mirror lock up, but I have done tests with
a 4Ti and 300/4.5 with self timer, thus aperture pre-fire and MLU,
versus Holding the lens and body with my hands while they were
mounted on the tripod. I tried a variety of shutter speeds.
I could not discern any differences in the Provia slides so I believe
Olympus knew what they were talking about when they recommended the
hand holding method.
