Hi,
I'm a recent subscriber to the group. After lurking for about 3 weeks I
must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed the variety of discourse presented
although it's sometimes difficult to keep my eyes from glazing over while
scanning past all the quoted text looking for replies or new postings.
After owning an OM-1n for about 25 years I've decided to take it and myself
a bit more seriously. One of the first things I want to do is purchase a
zoom lens...I'd be interested in hearing your comments on two particular ones:
Zuiko 65-200, f4 macro
Vivitar Series 1 70-210, f 3.5 (the one with 67 mm threads--is seems the 67
mm model is looked upon more favorably by ebayers.)
I've been watching both on ebay and now have a feel for what I should
expect to bid/pay. I'm also looking at a Vivitar in person. Everything
seems OK with the exception of some stiffness in sliding the
zoom...especially from 210 to 70. Is this a common problem to this brand &
series? Is there a remedy for this that won't harm the lens?
As to other zooms...well, since you guys don't seem too shy about
expressing opinions feel free to express.
Thanks,
Gary Teller
