But that has always been the case. F100 is a $1800 Canadian $ camera that
will meter everything. Consider that you cannot get a pro DSLR for $1800.
You can use any lens, you just have to use manual mode. My point really was
that the Nikon mount has never changed while Canon's has, which screwed many
people.

Only true of the 'pro' bodies. The cheaper AF film and digital bodies
won't work with the older MF lenses.
