At http://homepage.mac.com/zuiko/PhotoAlbum4.html is a pair of
images. The one on the left is nearly a full frame of the scan I
have just carried out with my Epson 2450 of a 35mm negative. The
right-hand image is the same file cropped to show 1000ixel for
pixel in the same space. You can see that the image at 100 0s a
little soft. I did a little bit of sharpening after the scan, but I
have not fiddled with the 100 0mage subsequently.
The village is where I live. The pink outline is my property, in
case it is of interest; the street on which I live is oriented
North-South. I got my student to fly the aircraft while I snapped
the village from about 1,500 feet a couple of months ago. I was
teaching him how to low fly and it did not take long to slip up to
1,500 feet over the village to take a couple of photos. The XA is
excellent for this I find.
I hope that this scan helps with your decision-making process.

Hi
I have been considering this scanner as well and have read people on the
list talk about using it for medium format. I have also read some comments
on the list maybe, but certainly in other places on the net that suggest
that it is not sharp enough for 35mm.
Does anyone on the list with personal experience of this scanner have an
opinion. If it will do the job I want with 35mm as well as its other
benefits, it seems like a very good buy.
