Way back in 1972 or so I bought a Nikkormat with a Nikkor 50mm / f1.4 at the PX in Hong Kong. The images from this Nikkor lens [mainly slides] were incredibly sharp and equally as sharp as those from my 50mm / f1.4 Leica M Summilux. The difference between the two lenses was that the Leica images exuded a sense of warmth whereas those from the Nikkor felt as if they were icy cold. jh It is said that Nikon got itself on the map originally by producing lenses for Leica rangefinders that were sharper and much cheaper than the German variety and selling them to news photographers. -- Winsor Crosby Long Beach, California < This message was delivered via the Olympus Mailing List > < For questions, mailto:owner-olympus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > < Web Page: http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright/olympuslist.html > |
