[OM] 75-150mm lens separation

I would like to hear from any who know the cause and affect of lens 
separation in these lenses.  Over the past 2 or 3 years I have had the 
opportunity to see 3 or 4 of these lenses that had what I think is lens 
separation on interior lenses.  When you hold the lens up to a light source 
you can see clear lines inside the lens.  The questions are: "What causes 
this?" and "What affect does it have on your images?"  Bill Barber
