An opposite reaction was one thing that let me know I'd been in the job
too long. I was disturbed to discover that I could do a better job in
the afternoon if I had a beer at lunch! I figured if dulling my senses
improved my performance, it was time to move my life on. I retired, so
now I can have a beer at lunch whenever I want. Interestingly enough,
now I almost never do.
