There have been some good advice on this thread, but
let a Zonie (those who live in AZ) give you one little tip.

WATER.

I'm not sure of what condition you are in, but in late Sept
the Grand Canyon area should have humidity in the single
digit range. Temp will range from the 30s at night
on the north rim to 100+ in the valley. The Grand Canyon
area is desert.

I have not done the Grand Canyon yet. When I hike the local
hills, I figure on a MINIMUM of a gallon per day. Sources of
water are few and far between, and so I never bothered with
the filter. BTW, I'm usually in and out the same day, so
add more water to drink at night. So let's say you need 3
gallons of water for the trip just for drinking. 18 pounds
Don't forget that you have to climb out, and if you run out
of water...

Wear a light colored, long sleeve shirt in the daytime. Those
folks who live in the Arabian desert wear what? and why?
You got it, keep from drying out and also sun protection.
Wear a straw hat with wide brim, wear sunglasses.

I'd go for one OM body, the 24MM and the 50MM.
