In a way you are right. I think that the next camera body that I buy *new*
will be the P*ntax MZ-S.
However it seems to me, that while high-end/top-level cameras seems to be
as good as ever (technological progress and all carrying on) the
consumer-level/student cameras seems to be getting worse. Yes, with a
truckload of cash to spend, going something new and high-end seems to be
*the* way. Indeed, it may be the way I will be going to supplement my
equipment in the future.
However if I was a poor high-school student looking to get into
photography for cheap, I think that the market was better 15 years ago
than it is today. At least, that's how it seems to me.
