No zoom? Huh, Nikon has some great zooms. I have done some surprisingly
good astrophotog with them.
Newer desiged zooms really, really close to their prime coutnerparts

28mm; as fast as the budget allows. If not that, then a 35mm.
For the rest:
Body: Used Nikon FM3a, FE2 or FM2[n] (all preferred over FM or FE).
Lenses: 50mm f/1.4 if budget allows, otherwise f/1.8, and somthing in the
100mm - 135mm range; as fast as the budget allows. NO ZOOM!!
