Agree with most of what you said, but DC is improving very fast, it is
not light years behind, I bet six years later the mid-high end DC will
be equal to your (also my :-)) 4000dpi scans. It doesn't need the
exact resolution (the number doesn't mean all) to get the same result
as there is no film in between, which is a poor media when compared to
CCD. One thing you can't bit is the color accuracy and the smooth tone
gradation of digital camera.
