You have to remember the the 3.5 macro was NOT an inexpensive
addition to the OM line up. It was the 50mm version of their very
professional system of macro lenses. It is a very fine lens. The F2
was added later when Olympus decided to sacrifice some size to making
lenses as fast or faster than the competition. I don't think that
the F2 is that much better than the 3.5, just faster and maybe more
consistent over a wider range of F stops. You might want to stop down
some with the 3.5.
