I had a G2 system for a while as well. Got rid of it because I had a hard
time with the constant in-out motion of the auto-focus system. I might have
kept it if it would just servo like a SLR auto-focus. When the pictures were
sharp, they were sharp, but the auto-focus was tricky. Also, the exposure
lock was not linked to the aperture setting like an OM. Very fancy point
and shoot. I also recently got an Xpan, because it has capability that
stitching can miss. If I were going out with a camera bag, I would opt
for the OM 990f the time over the G2, simply because of the lens
dynamic range.
