But this brings me to my question, how much
better is a MC lens then a SC lens?
Well that's a loaded question. I'm not an expert on the matter but
here's the way I look at it.
Primarily a multi coated lens is better at reducing flare, after that
it's up to the individual to
decide if its better than anything else. I have a SC 135mm f2.8 that
produces great portrait
images, especially of females 40 and over. Just has a softer look than
any of my multicoated
lenses in that range. SC lenses seem to be preferred over MC lenses for
infrared photography.
Ken Norton is a big fan of SC lenses for various reasons.
Learn to control situations where flare may be a problem and the SC's
stand up against the
MC's pretty well, some would say they exceed them.
Could someone
pick out a photo taken with a SC lens from others
taken with an MC lens?
Sure, I can...as long as I'm the one that took them. 8>)
