This is a more coherent and conmprehensive discussion of the
multicoating business

Don't confuse the yellowish reflections from some coatings, notably
early SC 50/1.4s & 1.8s, with the yellowish transmission through the
glass of some 55/1.2s and a supposedly a very few, very early 50/1.4s.
The presence or absence of certain colors of coating reflections is not
a reliable indicator of MC as the formulas varied by lens and varied
over time for some lenses. The only reliable indicator is for non-zoom,
non-macro, manual-focus lenses. For them, the presence of a letter and a
period/dot immediatly preceeding the word 'ZUIKO' indicates SC and all
others, whether marked MC or not, are multi-coated. There is probably
some obscure case where this may not be true, but it is the most
reliable indicator.
Your F.ZUIKOs are garden variety early, single-coated, regular optical
glass lenses.

Single coated lens normally appear clear. Any indication of green in
the lens indicates multi-coated. A yellowish lens has "rare earth
glass" mostly on a letter preceding the word Zuiko, such as "G.
Zuiko". The letter indicates the number of elements, which in this
case is umm....seven? I think. If this confuses you go to:
