Mike,
If you're still looking for Kodak Professional Pro Image 100 Film, I made
composites of the Characteristic Curves, Spectral Dye-Density Curves, and
Spectral-Sensitivity Curves, for Kodak's Pro Image 100 and Kodak's Bright
Sun (formerly called Gold 100). Judge for yourself the similarity of the
two films. IIRC, the PGI for one is 43 and the other is 45. You can see
the composites of all the curves from both data sheets here:
http://johnlind.tripod.com/proimagegold100.html
This is how I came to the conclusion they are, in essence, the same
film. The differences are so very slight as to be statistically
insignificant and could easily be confounded completely with variation in
emulsion lots, test equipment used, and exact conditions under which the
testing was done.
I don't want to denigrate the film, only point out you should get the same
results from either one if all else is done in the same manner (processing
and printing). What someone uses is a personal choice based on what's
desired for the image.
