The P-400 is a very nice printer though.
Speaking of dyesubs, I just got a note from Imaging Spectrum that
mentions a new Kodak dyesub called a ML500. Only .90 per 8x10 and it
does up to 270 per hour. Only $20k :(
I was going to get a P-400 until I was talked out of the idea of
offering prints at events. Not sure how many 4x6 prints the originator
of this thread wants to run, but I would tend to suggest using one of
the myriad of internet labs out there. My local lab (bayphoto.com) and
photoaccess.com are the two I primarily use now.
I am of the opinion that dyesub is better than inkjet, but the gap is
narrowing. In both cases cost per print is high. May as well have it
done on photographic paper and chemically processed IMO. I only use my
inkjet for proofing and playing.
