The Canon Camera Museum "Original Prices" are here:
http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/f_camera.html
For "body only", the New F1 was originally 149,000 yen in
September 1981. The EOS 1 was 189,000 yen in September 1989.
Of course, this doesn't tell us what the New F1 was selling
for in September 1989, so I don't know that it's much help.

The Canon Camera Museum does state that the EOS 1 "can autofocus
even in EV -1." however as you state this was preceded by the
F801 in 1988, a year before Canon.
FWIW, I think the design of this site would be a wonderful
basis and example for any camera manufacturer setting up an
online "Museum" - decent pictures, very detailed, easy to
navigate (and hopefully works with more browsers than just
the one I'm using <grin>). You don't have to appreciate Canon
cameras to appreciate the site and wish it on other
manufacturers.
Cheers
