Minolta 7000 was first AF to be released, in 1985.
I recall however, that it was Contax who built the first working AF camera,
but never marketed it. This only came to light some years later. Probably due
to high cost when added to the cost of the lenses, and the fact that they
couldn't guarantee their high quality that they're famous for.
