I've used the IS-3 and G40 combination for high-school basketball along with the OM-2S with 24/2.8. Biggest problem is "under the basket" shots. 35mm sometimes won't quite cut it and the majority of the pros have used 24mm for years as their standard close-in lens. The IS-3 shots were successful enough that two or three got statewide distribution in a couple local newspapers and the Des Moines Register. Never did get my tear sheets.
