I shoot HS basketball for the local paper - 50/1.2 (or 1.4, or 1.8),
a good flash, and plant yourself 5-10 feet off center under the goal.
Try not to get hit by the ball. Count on getting lots of layup shots,
rebound action, and 3-4 player action pix on foul shots. One thing
you'll learn quickly is that the players really don't notice you.
Even refs will step on you and run by without a look. Flash doesn't
bother them.

The 100 might be useful if you want some tight faces, but I wouldn't
even bother with cross court shots unless you're shooting the coaches
(and some of them need to be shot!)

I shoot tri-X at 400, with a 283 you shouldn't need to push. That
said, I love Fuji 800 press. I shoot a few rolls during the season
for color enlargements, but color's just too damned expensive to use
for small town paper $$$.
