I nearly bought the Manfrotto strap Donald, but I saw an Optech in my
favourite Cambridge camera shop (Campkins - it isn't cheap though!)
and bought that. It has the plastic locking fasteners to make a ring
at each end which goes wherever you want it to on the tripod.
Carrying the tripod is still a chore as it is heavy and the 141RC
head is heavier than the other end... so, I bought a Midi ball head
last week and that makes it much more manageable. A major plus with
the ball head is that it has no levers sticking out so far... and it
is lighter, and it is easier to manipulate etc...

When I bought my 055NAT2 (3221GN) tripod it included a wide strap, to fit on
the little ring on the 'pod. I've tried it several ways and at quite a few
lengths, but it seems a singularly useless item to me.
Any comments?
Donald.
