50/2 is a very sharp lens that takes very high
contrast shots. I guess it might be a bit
'unflattering' since it is so contrasty and delineates
objects very well. The 50/1.4 silvernosed I have
creates a very pleasing but soft image wide open and
although its not a dog of a lens by any means wide
open its resolution isn't nearly that of the 50/2
macro wide open. A month ago I got a 50/1.4 late sn
lens, but haven't yet used it wide open so I can't
comment. From the viewfinder the 90mm macro looks a
lot like the 50mm macro except at 90mm view. I just
got it a few days ago from everyones' favorite enabler
and havne't finished the roll of film up, but from
what I see through the viewfinder I think I'll like
the lens very much :-)
