And more innocent civilians will suffer and die. Innocent civilians that
have less ability to control the choices their country makes than we do.
Truly shameful.
Jim Couch
Unfortunately that is so, Jim. But that is the nature of war.
Consider. Were all Germans responsible for Hitler? Yet did we not bomb
German cities into dust? Were all Japanese responsible for their Emperor,
for the ruling junta under Tojo? And did we not bomb Japanese cities to
dust as well? Why did we do these things? To unjustly visit harm on
innocents or the alternative . . . to save the lives of as many of our
innocents as we could?
Would your course have us sit back meekly and wait for the next attack from
these fools? If so, I find myself compelled to stand against you. My
inclination is to first take care of the interests my own. I am not what I
would consider to be a war monger, but I am not a pacifist bent on
self-extinction, either.
We have been attacked. Please consider the implications of yesterday's
events. Wake up!

don't give a rat's ass (or arse, if you prefer) that these terrorists
feel justified or not. That's truly an absurd rationalization. Hitler
felt justified, too, I'm sure.

I want every one of them dead, along with those who allow them a safe
haven from which to operate. "My friend's friend is my friend, and my
enemy's friend is my enemy," I believe is how it goes, and the Taliban in
Afghanistan, despite their cowardly denials, gives Bin Laden a home base,
so I would be more than happy to see that country bombed back to the
Stone Age (which would not take much, since they aren't far from it anyway).

live under your porch, I'll burn your house down, with you in it, to get
rid of that dog. The same goes for Afghanistan. Whether or not Bin
Laden is behind this attack, he's due for extermination for many
reasons. Unlike so many of today's politically correct apologists, I am
not the tiniest bit sorry that we nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end
World War II, and I am still pissed that Bush the Elder didn't let us
continue on into Baghdad and finish the job there 10 years ago. Bombs
away is what I say! Let God sort 'em out.
