I'll extricate it from it's resting place tonight and play with it some
more... see if I can narrow down my 'season of discontent' with it some
more.

One of the things that happens with these cameras (OM 2S) is that you may
get
a "dead spot" or two in the LCD when in the manual mode. One of my OM 2Ss
has this problem and I have worked around it as it is otherwise quite OK.
This doesn't affect then exposure, just the reading you get. I wonder if
perhaps yours is one that doesn't just havea spot or two which are dead but
