You have to have the scanner on before you power up the PC in order for the
scsi card bios to recognize the attached scanner. You should see the scanner
mentioned during boot up. You may need to get rid of the Micro-uck banner
during bootup to see these messages. At least that is the case with most
adaptec scsi cards.
