Speaking of OM bodies that aren't all that favorably looked upon, I
happened to be wandering through a camera store in Calgary, and
spotted a brand-new OM-88 in the display case. Thinking it was really
LNIB, I asked to look at it. Indeed, it was brand-new! Hadn't ever been
used.... still had the little protective cardboard over the shutter in the
back... pristine paperwork, and all that stuff.
The store wanted around CDN$350 (US$227) for the body and the
50/2PF lens, which I thought was a bit much. But, it was *very*
interesting to see a brand-new, never-been-used camera that has been
discontinued for 10 years!
Regards,
Chris
P.S. No, I *didn't* buy it!
P.S. They also had a new OM-2000 on the shelf... wanted CDN$450
for it... didn't even ask to look at it! :-)
