I'm not sure about that Larry: I have a 2.8 so I have an interest,
but I seem to remember the lens test by Amateur Photographer within
the last 2 or 3 years and the only down on the later lens was that it
was slightly slower.

The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 already has been pointed out to be inferior to
the f/2.5. My
experience has been more with the zuiko, and the AT-X, which in a similar
enlargement situation to yours, the difference was indiscernable.
