Well said!
I'd like to thank all the list members who have given some good input on this
topic.
My conclusion: keep the 3.5-4.5 35-70 on a camera in an ER case for the
occasional shooting. Keep on shooting the higher quality picts with the primes
and a tripod.
If I ever stumble across another zoom in this range at a low price, I will buy
that and test whether my conclusion still holds.
