Since it's me the hypothetical Brit needs to send money to <g>.
I've had two very successful approaches, but I'd love to hear other
suggestions. The first is US$ cash, available at your bank, wrapped in
paper and mailed. So far, none lost, but certainly risky.
The second is bidpay (www.bidpay.com). You pay them, plus a small fee, and
they send me a confirmation, followed by a real western union money order,
in US$. I think the fee is $5. The only catch is that it must be matched
to an auction number, but they don't check, so any auction number will do.
Bank-to-bank transfers are very expensive. Bank checks cost me $30 in fees
to cash.
Open to suggestions!
