All this talk about the 35-80/2.8 caused me to consider. I use that
lens about 800f the time, it focuses so much easier and precise
compared to the 35-70/3.5-4.5, and my world is always a bit distorted
anyway. My main complaint is the weight. So I put it on the shelf and
replaced it with the 85/2, 50/1.8 and 24/2.8 and two bodies. I also
have the 100/2.8, 100/2, and 90/2. If you like a compact system, the
85/2 fits great. I will try to post some recent pictures with that
combination. The 100/2.8 and 85/2 are similar size, but I prefer the
85mm more often than 100mm. Wide open portraits are great.

OK, I'm contemplating an 85/2, but I already have a 90/2 and the
100/2.8. I know the 85/2 is lighter (by far) than the 90/2, but I'm
looking for opinions. Is it worth the $150-200 for such a lens? How is
the performance wide-open?
