Richard,
Welcome to the fold. Be aware that the whole point of this list is to act
as enablers.
Here's are a couple of the most amazing OM resources out there, both from
list members. The first is the eSIF, which catalogs anything and everything
OM (Thanks Hans)
http://www.taiga.ca/~esif/om-sif.htm
The second is the OM system lens tests (Thanks Gary)
http://members.aol.com/olympusom/lenstests/default.htm
which gives incredible testing detail of the Zuiko lens.
Now, to jump in with opinion (I'm sure you'll get a few), the answer from my
perspective is 'it depends'. It depends on such things as your budget and
whether you prefer primes or zooms
For people, a nice portrait lens would be a good buy. The best, by far, is
the 100/2, but it isn't cheap. Next would probably be either the 100/2.8
(great and inexpensive) or the 85/2 (very versatile and fast).
For motorcycles, I haven't a clue. Do you mean shots of motorcycle racing,
or parked motorcycles. Makes a big difference, doesn't it <g>. For racing,
something like a 65-200 zoom or a 200/4 or 200/5 might be nice. Or, gasp, a
third-party zoom, as there are some really nice ones that fill gaps in
Olympus' line.
For buildings, it would be hard to beat one of the shift lenses, either the
35/2.8 (a little pricey, but a good value) or the 24/3.5 (really, really
pricey). For a little more budget-minded approach, a 24/2.8 or even 28/2.8
would be a good choice.
So, go grab a 24/2.8 and a 100/2.8 and a 200/4 and you'll have a great kit!
Point us in the right direction budget wise and we can narrow down your
choices.
Ask away here, as everyone is very helpful!
Tom
