I also have a Leica colorplan 90/2.5, but I don't use it to evaluate
the resolution of slide. I use an Olympus microscope at 60x. I had a
test shot with 50/3.5 and Velvia, under microscope I found it can
barley identify up to around 70lp/mm, under the colorplan I need to
project a 100 inches image to see it, at 60 inches it was still not
good enough. I have no experience with your Kodak Ektanar C but 24x
seems a little less, as you have mention you can see much more with a
100x pocket microscope. But I just don't like using slide projector to
evaluate resolution, you need to focus it like crazy.
At 24x sharpness may pay more important part than resolution. That may
be the different we see about 90/2 and 100/2. I can see my 100/2
perform much better wide open with a 10x mag. on 4x6 inch print.
