It wasn't directed at me, but I would be surprised if the demo prints were
not scanned from a fairly large format negative (or positive) on a very
expensive drum scanner. I would think they would go for the absolute best
quality.
There is really no way to take a full size print, scan it and reproduce it
on an inkjet without some sacrifice in quality. Sort of the same thing as a
dub of a videotape. There just isn't the same resolution in the second
generation.
The results, however, could be pretty good, particularly if you scan large
to small, meaning an 8x10 scan and a 4x6 print, for example.
