Second body? Does Pamela Anderson count?
I've been sitting quietly reading the digest (throwing
pens at the screen) as people continue to trash the
OM-2S. If you have an OM-2S that still works, you can
be pretty confident that it will continue to work. I
am sick and tired of hearing people grousing about the
battery life and how it "lets you down" when you need
it most. Huh? How about the newer fangled
auto-everything cameras. You think those $8 a piece
(x2) lithium babies last any longer in an IS-3 than
pizza served to a group of 10-year-old boys?
If you have a half-dozen camera bodies and have
"anniversery rolls" of film loaded in them, then sure
you will hate the OM-2S (or OM-4) as the batteries
last about two shots. But if you actually USE the
camera, you will find that it is extremely reliable
and the battery life is more than sufficient! I find
that the batteries last 4-6 months regardless of the
number of rolls I've run through the camera. Use-em
or lose-em.
In otherwords, people who actually USE the OM-2S don't
have problems with it. Mine has been my primary tool
for around 15 years and with a couple CLA's has been a
reliable worker. (except for the flaky ISO dial,
which my OM-2md also had).
