I'm using NiMH AAs in my C3030 and so far get good service out of them.

| Kelton,
|
| Try rechargable batteries in the 950. I have an Olympus C-2020 with 2
sets
| of rechargable batteries. Rechargables last much longer, I get a several
| hundred photographs per charge. With two sets of batteries I run out of
| memory (1-64MB and 1-32MB card) long before I run out of batteries. But I
| don't have the continous focus of the 950 and I rarely use the LCD for my
| viewfinder. I do envy the Super Macro mode the 950 has though, but I'm
| willing to sacrifice it for full manual control.
