I was thrilled at the potential for cost savings when my wife purchased a
Nikon 950--then I found out my savings in film were being offset by
having to feed it 4 AA batteries every 20 shots. We purchased an AC
adaptor and the 950 is now relegated to studio photography, where there's
an outlet nearby. I was thrilled that I could do my own "darkroom" work
in PhotoShop. Until I started buying Epson 900 ink cartridges. My
"darkroom" work is now relegated to the screen. Digital is less expensive
than silver, yes. But brothers and sisters, it's far from free!
