Most older models are more serviceable than newer models. For the ORIGINAL
OM-1 (up to 26 years old) I still have new curtains and shutter assemblies.
Circuits, meters, center weighted and averaging curtains for the OM-2 and
2N, front castings for the 1, 1N, 2 and 2N, circuits, shutters and curtains
for the OM-10 and OM-G. 2S: no circuits, no top covers OR shutters. Same
goes for original OM-3 and 4.

| I would have to agree. I seem to prefer the OM-2S to all other bodies, but
I
| like my OM-4T too and would have to give it the edge for ruggedness and
| repairability. I'm staking my long-term commitment to Olympus on the
OM-4T.
| Actually on the OM-4T and (horror of horrors) the OM2000. I do
occasionally
| want a mechanical camera and feel the OM2000, despite some shortcomings,
is
| fully capable of achieving the results I need from a mechanical camera.
|
| Funny, despite having said that, I'm very glad I started into Olympus with
the
| OM-1 and then moved to the OM-2S. I think I learned to use a meter well
with
| the OM-1 and I think I learned to use auto mode and spot metering well
with
| the OM-2S. These things have probably made it easier for me to decide
quickly
| how to use the more complex array of capabilities of the OM-4T.
