no reasonable person
could conclude that a U.S. citizen traveling within the United States or
abroad has freedom of travel not surpassed by a Swiss Citizen...
Actually, I think this could be conclusively proven or disproven.
There are MANY places where US citizens are not welcome that a
"neutral" Swiss citizen can easily go. There are MANY places where
the US State Department issues official warnings not to visit, where
Swiss citizens blithely go on holiday. There are even a few that our
freedom-loving government WILL NOT ALLOW us to go to, which is not
true of the Swiss.
But then I'd guess Rob wouldn't care to visit any of those places
anyway, so they don't count. :-)
And should your international flight get hi-jacked by terrorists --
do you think the guy with the Uzi collecting passports gets excited
when he sees a red one with a cross on the front? Nah, they get bonus
points for the blue ones with the eagle! :-)
In my experience living abroad -- which includes 18 months in
Switzerland -- the Swiss passport is among the most respected and
coveted.
But anyway, so long Rob. It's been disturbing. Email filtering is
wonderful -- feel free to put me in yours.
