Might be old foam. I noticed last week my OM-1's mirror stayed stuck up
after locking it up. It was a typically balmy Texas summer day, 110 F or
so, and the foam rebound material had gone slightly agoo.
Lessee, where's John H's address again ... ahh, here it is ...

(PS: Outta context someone might interpret this as a body check against Tom
S. It ain't. Far from it. Talkin' 'bout mirror foam. 'Nuff said?)

I second this one, too. I bought a camera from Tom, and when it
arrived, the mirror was sticking in the up position at almost all
shutter speeds. I "exercised" it thoroughly, and the problem went
away. Tom never even hinted at a return date but said to take my time
and that he wanted me to be happy. I am. Thanks again, Tom.
