Another way is to use the self-timer. My recollection is that when using the
self-timer the mirror flips up when the shutter release is pressed, but the
shutter does not open until 12 seconds later.

To cut down vibrations for macro, there are two alternatives for the OM-4:
1) use a macro flash
2) use a manual extension tube - it serves as an aperture preset unit.
