Hi Eric:
We've had discussions on the downside of having to wait for shutter
release when using the electronic self-timer OM models. You can't modify
the circuitry - or better said no one knows how. Your best bet is to use
an OM-2000 for the tripod-mounted landscape and macro shots, since you
can cut the time to about 2 seconds and still get mirror and diaphragm
prefire. That said, my OM-2000 developed a film advance problems after a
year of use and now sits gathering dust.
